A filtration appliance for the separation of particles or bacteria from liquids or gases, specially in sterile form, e.g. for pharmaceutical solutions, medical infusions or beverages, consists of a two-part housing with a contacting rim, holding the filter membrane. In addition to the rim zone, several other pin-shaped supports are arranged in a pattern, to be joined by methods such as ultrasonic welding. This filter is suitable for high differential pressures and large filter areas. It can be produced cheap enough to be used as a throwaway filter. |
