The hinge, for attaching a door to the side of a piece of furniture, has a bearing unit in front of the side end face, with hinge-pin connection to an end of a similarly sited profile batten on the door, extending along the swivel axis. The batten and bearing are visible even with the door closed. There is a hinge arm (7), U-shaped in cross-section, to retain the bearing unit (5), fixed to the inside of the sidewall (2). Its arms (8, 9) run vertically to the hinge swivel axis, and it supports the bearing unit at one end, where it pref. protrudes beyond the end face (2') of the sidewall. This combines decorative effect with simple and economic production.
