The torque-producing drive system has two equal half shells (2a, 2b) placed on top of one another with a central opening. These half shells hold a toroidal coil (3). Projections forming pole faces (8) and lying opposite one another depart from the half shells. A rotary magnet (14) magnetised in a given direction is positioned centrally in the region of the pole faces. Each half shell may consist of a circular ring face and a marginal edge perpendicular to it. The projection forming the pole face may run along the inner opening in a circle parallel to the edge.
