Endless rope is twisted in such a manner from a piece that an integral core and outer strands are produced. Outer strands number five instead of normal six and the piece used for twisting the core is reduced artificially in dia. such that in the region of the splice the rope has identical dia. as the remainder portion of the rope. Twisting between core and strands produces a frictional bond and the rope has the same properties as standard twisted rope with steel insert according to DIN 3060.
