<p>A moulding for the internal lining of automobiles and other passenger vehicles is composed of pressed cellulose fibrous material or (un)filled thermoplastics. In addn., the moulding contains, over (partition of) its area, a deformable, high-strength fabric to absorb energy if ruptured and to prevent large sharp edges and splinters occurring. The fabric may be of high-strength plastics, e.g., polyamide or of metals, esp. a metal fabric with the wires connected at the crossing points and corrosion protected on the surface. The fabric may be bonded into the material by the binding agent used in the fibrous material. An additional binding agent on the surface of the fabric may be used. Improved strength and stability, partic. under fluctuating temps., and improved safety in the case of an accident are obtd.</p> |
