<p>The silo is assembled from vertical segments of sheet metal, these being beaded over along their vertical edges and secured together by clip-type sheet metal strips, also beaded over. The beads (11, 12) on the segments (10, 20) are bent over parallel to the main portions, the bead width being a multiple of the segment wall thickness. The beads (32, 34) of the strip (30) are in the same plane and wider than those of the segments, their thickness matching the clearance between the segments and their beads. The strip bead edges (33, 35) are radiused to match the internal bending radius of the segment beads, and the clearance between these edges is equal to or less than double the segment wall thickness.</p> |
