<p>The latent image in an electrostatic copier is developed by blowing a toner cloud through an electrode system of adjustable length and potential. The toner cloud is blown through a slit which scans the imate. An electrode (29) is sprung against the plate assembly (14) carrying the latent image on a selenium surface (16). The circuit is made through the voltage generator unit (21, 22) and the toner blower (1 to 11). A fan unit (5) creates a toner cloud (8) which is blown through an adjustable tube (27, 10, 28) onto the latent image via a tracking unit with rollers (17, 18) to maintain accurate spacing. The length of the tube unit can be adjusted (23), and this sets the distance between cloud chamber and tracking rollers (17, 18). The cloud chamber (1, 2, 3) is held at earth potential (30') to compte the electrode circuit.</p> |
