An app. for reproducing an inform. sig. in a record track extending parallel with an edge of a rectangular card, was comprised of means (21) defining a card supporting surface (15) transducer means (45) positioned to scan the record track on a card, a capstan roller (44) engageable with a card on surface (15) for driving the card in a forward and backwards direction, a reciprocating actuating member (16) movable manually in one direction, spring means (38) connected with (16) and being loaded in response to movement of (16) in one direction to provide motive power, and switch means (34) responsive to the position of (16).
