<p>Compsns. comprises >=1 mono- or polycyclic aromatic cpd., >=1 of the aromatic rings having three hydroxyl radicals attached to it. The compsns. is applied as an emulsion to the mass of fibres. It also contains as film former a cathonic polyvinyl acetate or a non-ionic polyethylene glycol. Fibres so coated are used to reinforce Portland current based concretes. The coating protects the glass against corrosion by the component of the set concrete which would otherwise lose the benefit of the reinforcement.</p> |
