A connector for connecting a multi-conductor flat cable (1) to a printed-wiring board comprises two parts of which one part (13) has a plurality of contact pins (15) and the other part (9) is formed with a plurality of first passages (7) for receiving the ends of the conductors of the cable and a plurality of second passages (11) for receiving the contact pins. Each second passage extends perpendicularly to an associated one of the first passages and communicates with it in such a manner that a contact pin inserted into the second passage presses against the side of the conductor end in the first passage to clamp this end in the first passage. This construction allows the contact pins to be spaced less than 2 mm apart in the longitudinal direction of the connector. <IMAGE>
