PURPOSE:To provide the title alloy the hot and cold workability of which can be improved without lowering the Bs by limiting the amts. of Mn and rare earth elements contained in Permalloy contg. components for improving the mechanical characteristics. CONSTITUTION:Less than 15 wt% of Mo, W, Nb, Al, etc. is added to a Ni-iron type high permeability alloy (Permalloy) consisting of Ni; 70 wt% and the balance iron practically in place of part of the iron to improve the magnetic and mechanical characteistics. Thus, the wear resistance of the Permalloy can be enhanced remarkably, yet the workability is deteriorated and the saturation magnetic flux density (Bs) is lowered. So, the Mn content of the alloy is limited to less than 0.1 wt% and 0.001-0.1 wt% of rare earth elements is added. Thus, the hot and cold workability can be enhanced without lowering the Bs. |
