PURPOSE:To provide an amorphous ferromagnetic alloy with low magnetostriction and high saturation magnetic flux density, obtd. by adding a metal for stabilizing magnetic characteristics and metalloid elements for forming an amorphous alloy to a Fe- Ni-Co alloy, followed by quenching from a molten state. CONSTITUTION:The alloy has a compsn. represented by (Fea, Nib, Coc)w Tz By Cx (where a; 0.02-0.15, b<=0.3, c; 1-a-b, x; 0-20, y; 0.05-0.25, z 0.05, x+y; 0.15-0.25, w; 1-x-y-z, and T is one of Cr, Mo and W). PROCESS:The above Fe-Ni-Co alloy is refined contg. one of Cr, Mo and W as an element for stabilizing magnetic characteristics, and B and C as elements for forming an amorphous alloy. The molten alloy is then sprayed upon the inside of a metallic hollow cylinder rotating at a high speed and quenched to obtain a ribbon-shaped foil of amorphou alloy with low magnetostriction, high saturation magnetic flux density, toughness and superior workability. |
