An unstad. polyester is cured in the presence of an org. peroxide and acetoacetic acid amide (I;R,R1 = H, alkyl, aryl, or substituted aryl group). Thus a mixt. of phthalic anhydride, maleic anhydride, and propylene glycol was heated at 200≦̸C to give an unsatd. polyester which was mixed with hydroquinone and styrene, giving an unsatd. polyester resin compn. The resin was mixed with dimethyl phthalate soln. of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and acetoacetanilide to give a curable compn.
