A container 4, enclosing a hypodermic needle, has an integral tab 12 connected to the container along a line of weakness, a member 15 being heat sealed to the whole of the container end and tab to close an opening 8 in the container end. To open the container, the tab is lifted and fractures along its line of weakness, tearing the member 15 along a line of indentation (16), Fig. 1 (not shown), and allowing the removal of the needle. The needle is sterilized by irradiation after sealing the container. The container is moulded from a plastics such as polystyrene. |
