摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to store ternary information by storing ternary information dependently upon the permanent current direction and the permanent current zero mode of a superconductive current loop in a memory element which has the superconductive current loop including two Josephson junction devices. CONSTITUTION:In the memory element which has superconductive current loop LP including two Josephson junction devices J1 and J2, bias line BL is connected to current loop LP, and write line WL is arranged near devices J1 and J2. Josephson devices J3 and J4 connected to read line RL are arranged near current loop LP. Then, at a write time, the reset current larger than the sum of transition currents of junction devices J1 and J2 is flowed to current loop LP to erase memory contents by the permanent current, and next, the bias current smaller than the transition current is flowed to flow ternary information to write line WL arranged near, thereby storing ternary information while flowing the clockwise or counter-clockwise current to the current loop or making the current loop no-current mode.
