The machine places blocks of soil, each containing a seed, in closed rows on a prepared surface. Rows of blocks (1) move down the ramp of a transport unit (2) over an operating surface (3) towards the delivery end (5) under the pushing effect of successive rows. Above the operating surface (3) is a shaft (6) which is rotatable and pivotable, and which carries groups of pins (7, 8, 9). The shaft is pivoted by using the rotary movement of an arm (11) rotating in a frame part (10). The combined swivel and rotation of the shaft (6) causes the pin groups (7, 8, 9) to transmit a sharp thrust movement to alternate soil blocks.
