The system is designed to displace a crossbar (1) over a plane parallel to a plane (2). The ends (1a, 1b) of the cross-bar (1) are fitted with pulleys (2a, 2b) which are hinged around two axes perpendicular to the ends (1a, 1b). The pulleys each have two slots through which run two cables (3, 4) each fixed to the ends at diametrically opposite points with respect tot eh crossbar (1). The pulleys (2a, 2b) permit movement of the cables (3, 4) along two axes mating with the diagonals of the crossbar so that when the bar (1) is displaced the cables (3, 4) slide along the diagonals in opposite directions.
