PURPOSE:To manufacture a decorative laminate having patterns wherein a metallic foil and an exposed surface of the decorative laminate base board are present with ease free from slip of patterns, by applying the metallic foil to a decorative surface, and by removing the metallic foil partly. CONSTITUTION:A metallic foil, e.g. copper, aluminum foils, etc. is placed on the decorative surface of a decorative base board which is formed by laminating sheets of paper impregnated with a thermosetting resin, e.g. phenolic, melamine resins, etc., on plywood or inorganic board, hot-pressed and integrated by a press. The metallic foil is removed in the shape of desired patterns by physical or chemical means to form a patterned decorative laminate. As for the chemical means, patterns are printed on the metallic foil with an oxidation resistant ink, and the foil part other than the patterns is oxidized and removed by an oxidizing solution. Patterus are thus formed with sease. |
