The method and the device are applicable to any textile machine including movable elements whose movements are controlled, on the one hand, directly by a main shaft and, on the other hand, by pneumatic elements moving as a function of instructions contained on an information medium, in which machine the linked chain is replaced by an electopneumatic system. The device comprises a synchronisation device (9) comprising a disk (23) fitted with magnetic cams (21, 22) and with fixed detectors (24, 25) for detecting the passage of the main shaft into an reference angular position of the shaft for which their movement should start to occur, this angular offset being a function of the response time of the elements; conductors (26, 27) for supplying a signal for controlling the movement of the elements and an assembly (8) for controlling the movement of the elements. The advantage is perfect synchronisation of the movements of the movable members, whatever the working speed of the machine, whilst keeping the advantages resulting from substituting such a system for the linked chain and making it possible to reach speeds at least equal to those obtained with linked-chain machines. <IMAGE>
