The sole of the boot is formed from two parts (2, 3) capable of sliding on each other along the longitudinal axis; on one of these parts (2) is fastened the toe (16) of the boot, and the rest (17) of the boot is fastened on the other (3). The join between the two parts is ensured by an extension (18) provided on the periphery of the rear edge of the toe (16) and which is embedded in a housing (20) of corresponding shape provided inside the front edge of the rest (17) of the boot. The boot is equipped with an inner bootee (45); the latter comprises a part which can be extended in terms of length, of concertina form (46), a ring (49) made from flexible material ensuring the continuity of the inner casing of the bootee. It is also possible to vary the length of the boot with a view to adapting it to the user's foot. <IMAGE>
