<p>PURPOSE:To prevent irregular composition and to obtain a laminated type varistor having a low limiting voltage and excellent protecting function by laminating a plurality of thin sheet layers to form a varistor layer. CONSTITUTION:Varistor layers each having, for example, 60mum of thickness and made of ZnO ceramics and inner electrodes 3 each made of Pt are alternately laminated, and left and right end faces 4a, 4b of a sintered material 4 made by integrally sintering the laminate are covered with external electrodes 5 made of Ag-Pd alloy. The end faces 3a of the electrodes 3 are alternately exposed with the left and right end faces 4a, 4b of the material 4 to be connected to the external electrodes, and the other part is buried and sealed in the material 4. Further, the varistor layer 2 is composed by laminating two sheet layers 2a, 2b each having, for example, 30mum of thickness, and the varistor layer 2 having 60mum of thickness is thereby formed. Thus, an irregular composition is prevented, and a low limiting voltage and an excellent protecting function are provided.</p> |
