PURPOSE:To provide a means to start the function of a heat pipe at predetermined temperature by covering the external of an evaporating part or condensing part of the heat pipe by an outer tube and a seperating plate to form an insulating layer and by opening of said separating plate. CONSTITUTION:A vaporizing part 3 of a heat pipe 1 is thermally insulated from a high temperature fluid 8 contained in a reactor 7 by an outer tube 4 and a separating plate 4 whereby the heat pipe 1 is not in the functioning condition. When the temperature of the high temperature fluid 8 of said reactor 7 exceeds predetermined level, the separating plate 4 starts to melt as the material thereof reaches its melting point whereby the high temperature fluid enters into the outer tube 4 of the heat pipe 1 to cause the heat pipe to start its function. A bimetal can be used as a means to break the seperating plate 5 for start of the heat pipe function. |
