<p>The tuning aid, for a car radio, allows the driver to distinguish weak from strong stations at the very outset and thereby select a strong station. It is esp. intended for use in the VHF band. A manually operated pulse switch (12) actuates a muting circuit (11) that suppresses sound output. A detector (13) compares the field strength of a station with a given level and disables the muting circuit when this level is reached.</p> |
