The equipment forms composite layers, thrusting rectangular bodies sideways on a roller conveyor by means of a turning device cut in and out as required. The bodies are delivered against an end stop and an intermediate one lifted between two rollers. For rectangular bodies (1) with a pair of base strips (2), e.g. wine bottle crates, the roller conveyor (4) has oblique rollers (11) at the turning device. The intermediate stop (9) swings about a vertical axis (15) between a position (12) parallel to the inclined rollers and a transverse one (14).
