Regulated current source for welding - has transformer with adjustable primary side and rectifier on secondary side

The regulated welding current source has electrical switching means for adjusting the current and voltage required for the welding process. The welding current is set continuously with high accuracy to match given welding conditions. The switching means include a transformer which is continuously adjusted over the whole working range of the plant. The transformer has an adjustable tapping arrangement and on the secondary side it has a rectifier. Hence, the transformer operates on the secondary side under the same conditions over the whole voltage range. The direct current on the secondary side depends on the position of the tapping arrangements.
