Adjustment mechanism for alarm bell sound - has eccentrically mounted pin to limit striker movement

The sound level of an electro magnetically activated alarm bell is capable of adjustment by rotation of an eccentric. The striker (7) is mounted on the pivoted armature (6) of the actuator. For a muted alarm bell effect, an adjuster disc (8) is rotated, causing an eccentric (9) to limit the movement of the striker. In this instance only the right hand bell is struck (3). If the full alarm sound is required the eccentric is turned through 180 degrees to allow full swing of the striker (7).
