In structures with air-conditioning ducts, the duct-forming element comprises a reinforced concrete beam with pressure element, tension element and one or more profile chambers. The pressure element is a slab (5), combining with the tension element (6) and a sloping stem piece (7) to form an h-shaped unit cross-section. These combine to shape the profile chamber (4) as an open air-conditioning duct, and with the unit's cross-section fitted in place as a horizontal 'h', they combine to make up a load bearing reinforced concrete beam as part of a ceiling. The components in the air-conditioning ducting also contribute to static load bearing rigidity and stability.
