<p>Paperstock head box has the outlet end of its manifolding chamber provided with three spaced baffle plates defining between two chambers of which the upstream one is much wider than the downstream one. Each baffle plate is provided with an array of bores which are parallel to one another and the bores of at least the downstream and intermediate baffle plates have a constant cross-sectional area. Flow and distribution of fibres in paper stock are uniform, whereby formation of nodules of fibres and irregularities in paper web are avoided.</p> |
