UV, light-fluorescing, water-resistant branding dye consists of (a) a pigment dye, fluorescing strongly in UV light, (b) an organosilicon copolycondensate of dicyclopentadiene dioxide, as lacquer binder, and (c) a solvent, volatilising with difficulty at room temp., for the binder used. The extremely finely-ground pigment dye is bonded to a synthetic resin, as dye carrier, pref. a melamine-sulphonamide-HCHO- or a urea-HCHO resin. The dyes are used esp. for marking semi-conductor components. The dyes combine intensity and fluorescence; dry in air to materials resistant to wiping, hardening at 140-180 degrees C to abrasion- and water-resistant materials; resist 50% HF and 15% KOH soln.; can be removed with solvents while unhardened; form no agglomerates in soln. and do not cause swelling of nylon filament; do not migrate after application; adhere to substrate (SiO2, Si3N4, Al or polyimide).
|
