Cleaning inker head nozzles discharging ink droplets - using absorbent, capillary paper, nylon or nitrocellulose membrane wiper

The nozzle face of an ink recorder (inker) head where the nozzles are connected with chambers having variable vol., for discharging drops of ink, is cleaned using an absorbent material. The inker head is placed, with its nozzle face against a cleaning medium (or this latter may be placed against the nozzle face) whilst ink flows from the nozzles towards the cleaning medium, is taken up by it, and the nozzle face is wetted via the moist phase whereby any particle(s) to be removed is/are detached and entrained by the cleaning medium as the same is withdrawn.
