The thermometer consists of a plastics housing (GH) with a tapered end in which is located a temp.-sensitive element such as a temp.-dependent resistor or thermo-element (MF). The sensor is enclosed in a screw-on thin metal tube (UH) of good heat conductivity. The sensor element is in close contact with the tube. The sensor is connected to an electronic circuit and this in turn is connected to a digital display (AN) of, for example, the liq. crystal type. The instrument is powered by battery cells (BA) which are accommodated in a compartment at the end of the housing. They are accessible via a cap (KA). A push-button (TA) switches the device on the off. The instrument is rapid-reading and does not suffer from the disadvantages of the mercury clinical thermometer.
|
