PURPOSE:To select the copy paper of a desired size so as to feed it by providing a discrimination means which can discriminate the size of an original document on the holder on which the document is placed on the document cover, and automatically discriminating the size of the document. CONSTITUTION:Holder 2 of transparent glass on which an original document is placed is disposed on the mount frame 1 of copier body, and the document on the holder 2 is covered with a document cover 3 which can be freely opened and closed in order to depress it on the holder 2. Closing of the cover 3 is detected by detecting switch 4, and auxiliary lamp is lighted. The auxiliary lamp is disposed at the reverse side of the holder 2 sudh that it is positioned at such a position as not to interfere with when in exposure. Plural photodetectors 6 are disposed within the by document cover 3, and the size of the document is discriminated by photodetecting that the light from the auxiliary lamp is interrupted by the size of the document. Paper feed cassette is automatically selected by this discriminating signal in order to select and feed the copy paper of predetermined size. |
