<p>The tool consists of a carrier plate, for four profiled elastic segments (a) located on the inside and outside of a ceramic moulding consisting of two cup handles joined by a web. When pressure is applied to the segments (a), they are squeezed inwards against the flash formed by the joint line between two mould halves. The flash is thus pressed into the relatively soft moulding so it disappears. The rear surfaces of the segments are pref. supported by profiled steel strips so the segments (a) can only bulge in one direction, i.e. against the moulding. The segments are pref. made from layers of different elastomers, using a soft elastomer in the middle of the segments. Deburring cup handles of varying moisture content is achieved without distorting the handle.</p> |
