PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for developers and fixers and form dry method images by supplying current to an electro thermo-coloring layer which contains cobalt (III) complex by way of a photoconducive layer having undergone image- from exposure. CONSTITUTION:Images 3 are stored in the photoconductive layer 2 of the recording material A comprising providing the photoconductive layer 2 on a conductive base 1 by applying image-form exposure thereto. While the images 3 remain, the electro thermo-coloring layer 4 of the recording material B comprising an electrocoloring layer 4 containing cobalt (III) complex on a conductive base 1' and the photoconductive layer 2 of the abovementioned recording material A are superposed. Next, a voltage is applied between both bases 1, 1' to allow the electro thermo- coloring layer 4 to form color in the image 5 form. The dark resistance of the photoconductive layer used for the above is desirably about 10<14> to 10<3> OMEGA at about 1 to 100mu thick and the bright resistance about 10<10> to 10<2> and the resistance of the electric thermo-coloring layer is desirably about 10<10> to 10<2> OMEGA at about 1 to 50mu thick. The applied voltage is so applied that V/d [V is the applied voltage (volts) and d is the thickness of the photoconductive layer (cm)] becomes about 6X10<6> volts/cm or under. |
