PURPOSE:To carry out one-side plating of a strip sheet by running the sheet over a hot dipping bath in a tank kept under a non-oxidizing atmosphere and rotating rotary rolls in the bath to splash up the bath and stick it to the back side of the sheet. CONSTITUTION:Galvanizing bath 5 is poured into a tank kept under a non-oxidizing atmosphere, and a plurality of rotary rolls 6, 7 each having protrusions on the surface are rotated while part of each roll is on the bath surface. Bath 5 is splashed up by the rotation and contacts with the back side of strip sheet 1 horizontally running near the bath surface to galvanize the back side. Sheet 1 is previously heated to above the m.p. of zinc, and molten zinc of uniform thickness is attached by gas wiping 10. In order to prevent penetration of bath 5 to the upper side of sheet 1, cover plate 8 having opening 9 is provided between sheet 1 and the bath surface to cover both edges of sheet 1. |
