[Also in Division C3] The invention comprises an aromatic acid wherein an aromatic ring is substituted by at least one halogen atom and at least one alkenyloxy group, or a derivative of such an acid, particularly 2 - allyloxy - 3,5 - dibromobenzoic acid and its ethyl ester. It may be obtained by reacting an alkenyl halide with a hydroxyaromatic acid wherein an aromatic ring is substituted by at least one halogen atom and at least one hydroxy group, or with a derivative of such an acid. Examples are given for the production of the compounds. |
