<p>PURPOSE:To actuate the controlling system always under the optimum condition on purpose to more accurately control the sheet gauge, by adjusting the gain of the position controlling system for the screw gap corresponding to the deformation resistance of the material. CONSTITUTION:The gain ajuster forecasts the deformation resistance Q of the rolled material for every rolling pass depending on the rolling schedule, and setles the loop gain Kp of the position controlling system for the screw, so as to make beta to be 0.7-1.0 for optimizing the automatic gauge controlling system. By thus settling the gain Kp, the loop gain Ka related to the automatic sheet gauge controller AGC is settled by the formula II in which eta is the influence factor, alpha is the tuning rate, and Kp is the loop gain. The controlling characteristic of the automatic sheet gauge controlling system actuates under the optimum condition if there exists a relation between Kp by the formula II and the time constant TV of the screw speed controlling system, as represented by the formula III, when this controlling system is approximated to the second-order lag. In the formulas, M is the mill constant and beta is the attenuation factor.</p> |
