<p>The hospital disinfecting and sterilising chamber for larger items such as mattresses and beds, has a door one end, from which extends a set of rails (27) for a carriage (35) which is moved towards and away from the door by a cable (29). This carriage carries sets of tubes with nozzles (31a, 32a, 33c) forming a spraying and washing system. Steam is used for sterilising. The tubes are supported by a fixed frame mounted on the carriage, and include three parallel vertical tubes (31, 32, 33) with sprays discharging from the sides and tops of the chamber. One tube (31) is larger than the other two, and has more jets, including jets at the centre, discharging towards the sides. These tubes also have flexible tubes attached. The frame is supported on the carriage so as to swing about a vertical axis through an angle of 10 and 30 deg., preferably 20 deg.</p> |
