The hinge arms on the awning sunblind are hinged to a bearing block on a carrier unit fastened to a support rod or bracket. The carrier unit has a curved hole through it, pierced by horizontally aligned screwbolts, onto which is pressed a pressure piece, from outside. There is a support (27) on at least one side of the hole (16) on the outside face (11a) of the carrier unit (11), extending over the adjustment area of the pressure piece (22). This works with a counter-support (29) on the latter, with a form-locking effect. Secure retention for heavy awnings at all angles of slope, even in strong winds is provided.
