Notch aerial with two orthogonal excitation elements - formed as recesses and/or frames with one supplied directly and other via phase adjuster

The notch aerial (1) has its escitation system provided with a recess in a metal surface or with a frame on a metal surface. One surface of a metal body has at least two orthogonal excitation elements (e.g. recesses and/or frames) of which one is supplied directly and the other via a phase setter. The advantage lies in being able to vary the aerial radiation characteristics -- e.g. generating and controlling electrically a deep minimum for direction finding.
