The construction vehicle is fitted with twin brakes in each brake drum, each with two brake shoes and linked to separate brake controls. The shoes are set for forward braking and are operated by a master control. For emergency braking all the brake shoes are applied with different pressure on the front and rear axles. The braking torque is divided over the axles for maximum adhesion. Each braking circuit includes a cock, a non-return valve, an air container and a brake valve actuating valve. Each actuating valve is connected to a respective air-fluid pressure converter which each have an air cylinder coupled to a signal device and a fluid cylinder.
