Lifting mixer - with axially reciprocating vertical paddle mixer shaft for lower power consumption

A lifting mixer for heat, mass transfer or mixing operations with or without chemical reactions consists of a paddle assembly on a vertical shaft in a mixing vessel which performs a periodical axial lifting motion. The blades of the paddles are inclined to the horizontal at an angle of 10-60 degrees (20-45 degrees) and their spacing on the axial shaft equals at least the amount of the lift. This impresses on the fluid a velocity with axial and radial components and combines a high mixing intensity with a much lower energy consumption, compared with conventional mixers.
