There is a bolt, slide along by a key, in the mortise lock, with bolt head led in the lock case and a bolt tail with end engaged by the key bit, with a spring-loaded securing bolt keeper holding it in its closed and open positions. The bolt tail is in the form of a bolt rocker (5) connected to the bolt head (3) so as to swivel about a horizontal axis so as to serve as a bolt keeper. Permits either left or right-hand operation.
