The cooking chamber (46) of the table cooker is formed by a pot (38) and a lid (2) which closes the upper side of the pot and which contains the hot air and fan units (12, 30 and 8). The lid preferably has a stand member (26, 34) so that the pot can be removed from the lid and handled as a separate unit where it can be placed directly on the dining table. The pot thus acts as a fat pan. The pot (28) is preferably securely fitted onto the lid by snap-fitting fasteners. An additional base plate can be provided inside the pan for easy cleaning.
