Pressure-sensitive adhesive comprises (a) alpha maleinised liq. polybutadiene, i.e. treated with maleic anhydride such that the anhydride units are added to the polymer in random manner without opening the ring; admixed with (b) >=1 solid resins confering adhesive props. and (c) >=1 vulcanising agents, the compsn. contg. (d) 20% volatile liqs., s.g. water or organic solvents. A vulcanisation catalyst may be opt. present. The com psns. have strong adhesive props. strong gripping power and great fastness to shear, and compsns. can be stored at room temps. without premature vulcanisation occurring.
