1466904 Valves ZENTRA ALBERT BURKLE KG 8 Oct 1974 [8 Oct 1973] 43619/74 Heading F2V A mixing valve has a chamber in a casing 10 with at least three flow openings 11, 12, 13, containing a rotatable valve member 19 with which the casing defines flow control passages of variable cross-section by variation of the distance between fixed and adjacent moving surfaces with valve member rotation between limits, adjacent openings being separated by sealing surfaces 30, 31, 32 such that in each limiting position of the valve member it is in contact with two sealing surfaces. As shown the valve member may be caused to rotate by an entraining device 22 attached to a spindle 21 and the valve member may be symmetrical about a plane through its centre of rotation enabling the functions of ports 14, 15, 16 to be interchanged. In alternative constructions the casing may have four ports Figs. 3, 5 (not shown) with an arcuate partition wall (46, 27a, 27b) forming the valve member Fig. 6 (not shown) and an additional V port (36) Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown).
