<p>Air inlet pipe is fitted with a connector made from synthetic material and is intended for use in plants involving the distribution of gases in liqs., more esp. for the aeration of waste water and sewage in biological purificn. installations. In the case of polyethylene air supply pipes, the connectors are fixed in posn. by welding; if, on the other hand the pipes are made from polyvinyl chloride, the connectors are fixed in posn. by means of a suitable adhesive. The connectors are generally in the form of a 'T' but they may also have two or more branches; three of four such branches may be arranged radially to receive a corresp. number of tubular aerators. By eliminating the need for screwing the pipes a considerably redn. may be effected in the height of the construction; economies can also be made in the machining necessary and in the erecting costs.</p> |
