PURPOSE:To increase both the reliability and the working efficiency with reduced amount of the hardware by giving the 2nd and subsequent corrections with no use of the error detector and the error correcting circuits to the error which is once detected and corrected. CONSTITUTION:The data with the error correcting code is read out from memory circuit 11 by designation of address register 10 and then supplied to read-out data correcting circuit 14. At this instant, the contents of register 10 is compared via comparison means 13 with the error address which is registered in N-units of error history holding register 12 in order to check whether the error has ever been detected or not for the data of circuit 11 address at the preceding reading time. If no coincidence is obtained through the comparison, it is regarded that no error did exist for the reading data at the preceding accesses. Thus, the data supplied to circuit 14 is then supplied directly to error detecting/correcting circuit 15 to carry out the error detection/correction. |
