Haloacylanilides (I; Z = H, Me, Z1 = Me, Et, Z2=C1-, Br- or iodo-substituted C2-C4 alkyl), useful for controlling plant fungi, were prepd. by reaction of 2, 6-dialkylanilinomethylpropionic ester (II; Z1, Z2 given) with halogenoalkanecarboxylic acids(HOOC-Z2) or their reactive acid halide, acid anhydride, ester or amide.
