A combined knife-fork set is designed to be handled with one hand only. The knife-fork set comprises a fork part (1) with a handle (2) on which a knife part (3) can move back and forth. When eating, the set is held with the thumb on top of the extremity (6) of the handle of the fork and the rest of the hand on the knife part. After planting the fork into a piece of food by pressing the extremity (6) of the handle (2) with the thumb, the knife part (3) is seized and handled by means of the palm of the hand in order to separate with the cutting edge (4) the larded piece of food. The knife part will be then pulled up by pushing with the thumb onto the extremity (6) of the handle of the fork. The lifting of the knife part can be assisted by a spring provided between the fork part and the knife part.
